Version 1.0 (7/8/98) - Made Program - Verified Operation w/ my computer Version 1.1 (7/10/98 - Fixed "Monentary" to "Monetary" (thanks MLW) This program (DarkLands Monetary Converter) is for converting money in darklands from either "Complex Form" (Florins, groschen, Peffenigs) to "Simple Form" (just pf) OR from "Simple Form" to "Complex Form". How to Operate: Complex to Simple: Enter the amount of Florins, Groschen, and Peffenigs (in thier respective boxes), then click the button "Complex to Simple" Simple to Complex: Enter the amount of Peffenigs (in the "total" box), and click the button "Simple to Complex" Contacting the Author: For bug reports, praise, suggestions, questions, ect, send an email to "jlkelly@raex.com", subject "Darklands Converter" (or similar). I'll try to get back to you as soon as possible with anything I can do to help you out :). Notes: A Florin is 240 Pfennigs (or however it's spelt). A Groschen is 12 Pfennigs. A Florin is ALSO 20 Groschen. These numbers are from the DarkLands Manual, packaged on the CDROM version of version .07 The program uses a rather simple system (not formula, really, but system) to figure out from one conversion to the other. The source code should be packaged with this (converter.bas and converter.prj, i belive) and was done w/ MS Visual Basic 4.0 (so you'll need the VB400 runtime files to run the program). The development computer used for this program was a Dell Dimension XPS 300, w/ a Pentium 2 300 MHZ processor, 64 megs of ram, 8.4 gig HD, and MS windows OEM 2, with visual basic 3.0, 4.0, and 5.0 run times installed. No errors where encountered. Known Issues: Invalid Input: If nothing is placed into the "Total" box, and "Simple to Complex" is pressed, you get an error. The obvious soloution for this is to simply not hit the button "simple to complex" if nothing is in the Total box. In the mean time, i'm trying to figure out how to fix this (i'm something of a C++ programmer, not a Visual Basic Programmer. Any help in this area would be GREATLY appreciated). Interestingly, nothing "bad" happens if you put nothing in ANY of the boxes, and hit "complex to simple". Things Planned to be Added: Output/Input from a text file (so you can do "bulk" conversions) Ability to use files from the character editor (i'm thinking just look for the "money" area, maybe) Ability to use the Save File it's self to view money (kinda a big step, that) Have a Nice Day Deth-B0y http://dethboy.home.ml.org
